Dear Readers,

This year I was looking forward to Christmas as early as September. Not because I had bought the first gingerbread, but because a glance at the new Rosenthal »White Christmas« collection promised two things: the very best of traditional Christmas season motifs combined with a stunning world of colour, which is frosty, modern and appealing in equal measure. You will find designer objects such as our »Squall« vase, the »TAC Palazzo RORO« collection, or our delicate »Swinging Vases«, make buying, wrapping and giving an absolute pleasure. So treat yourself and your loved ones to exceptional gift ideas, outstanding designs, and a Christmas celebration which goes beyond the classic red!

Merry White Christmas!
Yours, Gianluca Colonna

A decorated festive table

We recommend the white and gold elegance of our »TAC Palazzo RORO« anniversary service for any festive table. The designer Ewelina Wisniowska has reinterpreted this »TAC« service, designed by Walter Gropius, with it's vivid gold decoration, which also tells the extraordinary story of a curious bet between Philip Rosenthal and Walter Gropius. The outcome? A pig sty for Rosenthal's domestic pig RORO, designed by Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius. All the polygonal elements and fine lines – the pig, the hay and the fence – are taken from Walter Gropius' original design. We recommend combining the service with matching glasses from the collection and Sambonet’s contemporary golden cutlery.

Gifts & Decorations

With their delicate pink tones and copious amounts of white, the Rosenthal Christmas decorations appeal with a bright charm to dreamers and nostalgics alike. Yet the modern connection with the black accents also reaches out to metropolitans, with the unusual combination conjuring up a winter atmosphere and Christmas spirit among them. Feminine, frosty, experimental – this is how Rosenthal will be presenting the harmonious Christmas collection

Bittersweet Temptations

Our »White Christmas« collection is brought to life by its exciting contrast of black and white, and by its joyful reinterpretation of classic Christmas themes. To match this year's »White Christmas« collection, »Jeunes Restaurateurs« have created six sensual chocolate recipes exclusively for Rosenthal, which set the scene for our Rosenthal porcelain. All recipes have been created with award-winning »Original Beans« chocolates, which only use cocoa beans from sustainable cultivated sources, giving these chocolate creations a unique quality.

We hope you enjoy these recipes and wish you a joyful Christmas.

Sustainable and delicious: Chocolate from »Original Beans«

Like many tree fruits, cocoa absorbs all the aromas of its environment. When carefully harvested, fermented and dried, it reveals the character of its various origins. Since 2008, the »Bean Team« has been roaming the world’s most remote rainforests to bring home the best »Original Beans« for you to enjoy. »Original Beans« chocolates have repeatedly won the industry’s most prestigious awards, and are a standard feature in the kitchens of top chefs all over the world. Through their "One Bar: One Tree" programme, »Original Beans« are committed to preserving our rainforests and have already been able to plant more than one million trees in these cocoa regions.

Here’s to a lucky 2017 with RORO!

Since ancient times, the pig has been a symbol of wealth, fertility and strength. With its rotund body, distinctive nose and tiny curly tail, RORO, the adorable pig created by designer Sebastian Herkner, makes a thoroughly delightful lucky charm for 2017. And not only that – RORO very nearly created architectural history when architect Walter Gropius lost a bet and designed a pig-sty in Bauhaus style for this lovable animal, once the pet pig of Philip Rosenthal. Although the sty was never built, RORO commemorates this remarkable story in porcelain. RORO is now also available, in gold, as a special lucky charm edition.

We wish you good luck, and a great New Year's Eve party. In our New Year's category, we have put together everything you will need for a stylish evening, from champagne glasses to an ice bucket. Start your New Year well!
